Fine-line tattoo artist Ina Rufino standing in her Naarm studio, walls covered in artwork and flash sheets

ABOUT

I'm a self-taught tattoo artist with 5 years of experience, currently living and working from a private studio in Naarm (Melbourne). Originally from Pōneke (Wellington), I made the move across the ditch to build my practice here.

Before tattooing, I spent time in the New Zealand film industry and completed a BA in Cultural Anthropology, both of which still shape how I approach my work. I love researching the cultural significance tattooing has held in a post-colonial and patriarchal context.

My style is fine-line, abstract and organic, with a focus on movement and texture over rigidity. I'm always learning, and lately I've been dabbling in more textural realism, pushing my fine-line work into something a little more dimensional.
